We hadn’t had the chance to make guacamole since moving to Spain. That’s definitely a year too long without some good homemade guac! So we decided to fix that and pull out our staple guacamole recipe in order to enjoy the gloriousness that is a creamy, chunky guacamole.
This Classic Guacamole recipe is our go to when in need of a delicious snack. When it comes to guacamole we tend to stick with the basics, but this recipe can be easily adapted to make it your own!
- 3 avocados
- 1 small lime
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper
- 2 roma tomatoes, diced
- Dice the three avocados into relatively large pieces and place in a bowl. Using the back of a fork, gently mash the avocado pieces against the side of the bowl. Do not over do it. Make sure to leave plenty of chunks.
- Squeeze the juice of one small lime into the bowl with the avocado mixture. Stir a few times to combine, letting the juices break down the avocado even further.
- Lastly add the diced tomatoes, salt, and crushed red pepper. Stir to combine, but be sure not to over mix the contents. Guacamole tends to be better with plenty of chunks of avocado.
Oh, and you may have noticed that I left out the cilantro. I’m not too fond of the taste of it, so whenever I make guac its sans cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
