Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! It was true when I was little, decked head to toe in green and running around with shamrocks in my hands, and its certainly true today. Even Guinness agrees. In honor of the biggest of days, we’re taking a tour of St. James Gate Brewery in Dublin, Ireland.
Here’s to wishing you a day filled with all things green, boxty pancakes, corned beef and cabbage, and a pint of green beer! Happy St. Paddy’s Day! and Sláinte!
What: St. James Gate Brewery, the Home of Guinness
Where: Dublin, Ireland
How Long to Stay: Two to four hours, or longer depending on how many beers your order
What Else to Know:
- Tickets are under 20 EUR and can be purchased online or at the Brewery, bring your student ID if you have one
- Be sure to check out the storehouse to pick up a t-shirt or other souvenirs
- The Gravity Bar at the top of the brewery has spectacular views of Dublin and it features some pristinely kept floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s worth spending some serious time here to take in the views… and of course… the beer!
