Arthur’s Rock: A Winter Hike in Fort Collins

By Lauren | Updated: Nov 30, 2023 | Published: Dec 5, 2014 | Leave a Comment

The trail to Arthur’s Rock is a little over 3½ miles roundtrip, and its only a 25 minute drive from downtown Ft. Collins in Lory State Park. It boasts spectacular views, and though moderate in difficulty during the summer months, it’s only a tad bit more challenging when covered in snow in the winter. Just be sure to have some sturdy hiking boots and perhaps some ice clip-ons or hiking poles.

Even in the winter, it’s refreshing to get out and enjoy the cool mountain air. Hiking the Arthur’s Rock trail is a good excuse to get out of the house for an active morning or afternoon while enjoying some snow covered views. After your hike, stop by the Equinox brewery in Ft. Collins for a celebratory pint or to warm up. If you’re with a few friends order a sampler and try and handful of beers in their rotating lineup.
