Sailing on the Mediterranean

By Lauren | Updated: Nov 30, 2023 | Published: Aug 18, 2014 | Leave a Comment

As the summer is winding down, consider squeezing in a final late summer day on the water. There are lots of options to rent a boat and go out on the ocean or a lake for a day’s adventure. It could be a small kayak or a larger sailboat or anything in between. Either way you’ll get the chance to be on the water, smell the ocean breeze, and maybe even go for a dip.

Recently, I went with the crew at Nautal for a morning boat ride in the Mediterranean. We went south along the coast until we found a spot for swimming. Finding the right spot was particularly important given that there were gigantic neon jellyfish everywhere.

Once we found a jellyfish free area, we went for a swim. As soon as I jumped in the water I could feel all of the stresses of the week melt away. It was the epitome of relaxation, floating alongside a sailboat in the salty Mediterranean.

The boat was equipped with a charcoal grill latched to the side. We threw on some burgers and sausages, finishing up the morning with a seaside barbecue lunch before heading back to shore.
